UUC TRANSMISSION MOUNT UPGRADE/TRANSMISSION MOUNT ENFORCER INSTALL
(3 Series E36)

As your car ages, an inherent area of weakness will be your soft rubber transmission mounts. These mounts are responsible for isolating the drivetrain from the vehicle chassis, and over time will plain wear out, causing movement in the transmission and driveline and affecting the ability and ease to shift. In a worst case scenario, movement of the transmission during a downshift can lead to a mis-shift, which is an accidental shift from high gear to a much lower gear. This can over-rev the engine and cause engine damage. Upgrading your transmission mounts is highly recommended if you regularly autocross or track your car.

We suggest the UUC Motorwerks Transmission Mounts. These come in two varieties: black for street cars, and red for street cars that see track/autocross duty as well as dedicated race cars. The black mounts transmit no additional cabin vibration, while the red mounts may transmit very slight amounts of additional cabin vibration.

To start, jack your car and support it on jack stands. DO NOT WORK UNDER A CAR SUPPORTED BY JUST A JACK! Once the car is on jack stands, support the transmission with a jack. Next, remove the transmission mount support bar. Once the bar is removed, turn it over and unbolt the old mount. The new UUC mount will bolt directly in place of the old mount. The Transmission Mount Enforcer simply sits on top of the mount, with the threaded flange exiting through the top of the Enforcer.

While not required to upgrade to UUC transmission mounts, the Transmission Mount Enforcer will further stiffen your transmission's mounting by further reducing any apparent flex that may be present in either the black or the red mounts.

Installation is the reverse of removal. Tighten the bolts of the mount before you tighten the support bar to the vehicle.
